Very funny, As a student, i have traveled the world and relate to alot of the comics. Totally original!

Hiarious! He read my mind
The comments of passengers is so right on with what people actually think. The illustrations are perfectly correlated with the captions. I especially like the way the author pokes fun at all parties involved with an airplane trip, passengers, flight attendants, baggage carriers, and pilots. I just hope my baggage and plane ride is an exception. A perfect quick read and gift for that frequent flier.

Practical Digital Image Processing (Ellis Horwood Series in Digital and Signal Processing)
Published in Hardcover by Ellis Horwood Ltd (January, 1991)
Author: Rhys Lewis
Average review score:

superb
This book is without a doubt one of the best books written on the subject. It serves both as an introduction as well as a practical guide to implementing the theory. Most books on the subject can be very academic and dry (some are downright dehydrated) but this presents the material in a very pleasant and conversational style. Highly recommended!

The best book you'll ever read
There are two types of people in this world, those that have read Practical Digital Image Proccessing, and those that have not. I you are one of those that has not, then you must become one of those that has. This book covers all that you'll ever need to know about Practical Digital Image Proccessing and I highly recommend it for all ages whatever you are interested in.

The Procrastination Workbook: Your Personalized Program for Breaking Free from the Patterns That Hold You Back
Published in Paperback by New Harbinger Pubns (November, 2002)
Authors: William J. Knaus and Albert Ellis
Average review score:

Joking about procrastination is funny only because it hurts
In page after page I find myself gasping as William Knaus explains the different ways I have developed to procrastinate my life away. Knaus describes procrastination as a complex mixture of discomfort, self-doubts, perfectionism, fear of failure, anxiety, rebellion and depression developed over a lifetime. He explains how heaping blame on yourself only drives you to procrastinate more and he has created thought questions to help you develop the skills you need to pause, resist, reflect and respond.

A life changing weapon against the graveyard of missed opportunities, I highly recommend it!

Raising a Responsible Child: How Parents Can Avoid Overindulgent Behavior and Nurture Healthy Children
Published in Hardcover by Birch Lane Pr (October, 1995)
Author: Elizabeth M. Ellis
Average review score:

A must read for all parents!!
I am the director of a family counseling program serving families with children that have severe behavior problems. When I read this book, I was convinced that Ms. Ellis has unlocked the key to 80%-90% of what's behind today's problem children. I have been working with these children for 10 years and when I read the book, many of the children/parents I have worked with were described perfectly in the various examples. If I could only force these families to read this book and act on it - many of these severe problems could be prevented or improved significantly. I had my staff read 1 chapter a week for discussion and they were equally excited. I have given away many, many of my own copies.

Raising the Devil: Satanism, New Religions, and the Media
Published in Hardcover by University Press of Kentucky (October, 2000)
Author: Bill Ellis
Average review score:

Bedeviled
It was a great show while it lasted, the subject of fervent newspaper reports, television specials and an exposé by Geraldo Rivera in the 1980s. Satanism was rampant across America, nay, the world, with protean manifestations, if people would just pay attention. Twenty years before, there had been Satanism, but it was not very well publicized and not very interesting. But somehow it became the fashionable scare. How did this happen, and what should we do about it?

Bill Ellis is a folklorist, and an academic specializing in English and American studies. His book, Raising the Devil: Satanism, New Religions, and the Media (University Press of Kentucky) attempts a sympathetic understanding of how the Devil made one of his cyclic emergences and how folklore can affect society and politics. Scares about Satan and witchcraft have been present for centuries, and seem to give a safety valve for social aggression, scapegoating deviant individuals. At the individual level of, say, someone who thinks he is possessed by a demon and someone who thinks he can cast that demon out, there is a social agreement on a folkloric belief that may be beneficial for both concerned (if not for the demon). But Ellis's theme is that social groups can take over a folkloric belief to push a religious or governmental agenda, with disastrous consequences. He shows how demon possession and speaking in tongues are two sides of the same coin, and how belief in demons was ballooned into the belief that there was a huge underground satanic network ruining our country. Those who promulgated such conspiracy beliefs also bought into conspiracies involving Jews, vampires, the Illuminati, and cattle mutilations.

Raising the Devil is an academic work, well documented and organized. Ellis tries to illuminate the role of the folklorist in examining these sorts of belief, and realizes that he and his fellows have the difficult road to follow of accepting folklore (even if it is patently untrue) as a force between small numbers of individuals, while they also have to confront institutions that would harness folklore for political or religious change. His academic prose is leavened by the strange subject matter. For instance, the Governor of Colorado is quoted as saying that cattle mutilations were "one of the greatest outrages in the history of the western cattle industry," and a leader of a coven in England warned about bogus cult groups, as he had heard about one in which members "started getting in prostitutes dressed in rubber gear and there was wife swapping, too. It gives Satanism a bad name."

GREAT BOOK!!
This is a book that I could not put down! It explains how the media reacts so viciously to Satanism and new religions, which they know very little about. I myself am a Satanist and think that the media makes it sound much more evil than it really is. I think this was a good book because I can relate to the media and Satanists.

Red Blues: Voices from the Last Wave of Russian Immigrants (Ellis Island Series)
Published in Hardcover by Holmes & Meier Publishers, Inc. (June, 2002)
Authors: Dennis Shasha and Marina Shron
Average review score:

Compelling Personal Stories
Many of the experiences of the new Russian imigrants captured in this book read like short stories with a beginning, a middle, and a moral. Essentially all of the stories are compelling even when the character is not sympathetic. The human struggle to persevere in the modern world is no where better captured than in the experience of leaving everything you have ever known to start again in a new country. As these are contemporary stories, many resonate.

Red Hot
A thoroughly enjoyable read. Well written, well structured. Extremely moving.

Sam's Ghost - A Nick Ellis Mystery
Published in Paperback by PublishAmerica (May, 2003)
Author: Tony Ardito
Average review score:

splendid paranormal historical mystery
Condor University security officer Nick Ellis was not on shift when Chief Butts called to ask him to help with a campus fire. After courageously saving the lives of six emergency workers, Nick notices what seems like letters burned into the ground once the fire was put out. This locale has frightened Nick before as he senses something is not right there, a spot where the Army Air Corps trained fighter pilots during World War II.

Nick finally encounters his "client" who left the message in the ashes. The ghost of a pilot murdered sixty years ago wants Nick to find out the truth. Nick struggles, as no one seems interested in what occurred six decades ago until he meets US Army Criminal Investigation Division Major Tom Walker. Now the duo presses forward to find out what happened to Sam in 1942.

SAM'S GHOST will catch readers by surprise, but not because it is a splendid paranormal historical mystery with a touch of sad romance. The audience will be shocked with the final twist that ties up a strong tale. The romantic subplot deals with Sam wanting to tell his beloved that he loves her for eternity, but clearly the powerful World War II mystery investigated in the twenty-first century remains the prime theme. Fans will appreciate this novel and demand more works from terrific Tony Ardito starring resolute Nick.

"Get That Ghost"!
This is a must for all mystery lovers, ghost story lovers, sci-fi lovers, romance lovers, history buffs. WOW! This covers a wide range, what an achievement!! This was fun to read because I am privy to the real history in this novel's setting, and know the author, a terrific guy, and even know who these characters are, and believe me, they are really characters. The author captures them well on these pages. But there is plenty of wonder and, who, why, when, where to keep you guessing until the very last page. Sci-fi makes this exciting and almost believable, because we do not know what secrets the universe holds for us. Past, now, future - can intertwine if you know how. Tony gives us lots to think about. Since Nick is a great fellow, and a true romantic, I am very anxious to see what he gets himself into in the next adventure. This author has a big future in the novel realm.
